Dr Arkadiusz Bonna
co-founder and CTO
Arkadiusz (Arek) Bonna earned his MSc (1999) and PhD (2009) in Chemistry from the University of Gdańsk. He then completed a four-year postdoctoral fellowship (Foundation for Polish Science) in Inorganic Biochemistry with Professor Wojciech Bal at the Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw, where he also led the Peptide Synthesis Laboratory.
In 2015, he joined Professor Richard Farndale’s group at the University of Cambridge as a Senior Research Associate, working on collagen peptides in a British Heart Foundation–funded project.
Since 2018, he has worked in the collagen-based medical device industry, leading technology transfer from lab to industrial scale, process optimisation, quality control, and quality management systems. He supported development from TRL 3 to TRL 7 and led implementation and maintenance of ISO 13485 (BSI) for a Class III medical device. He has served as R&D Director and is a certified ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 auditor.
His current work centres on collagen-related peptides and ligands for biomedical research, medical devices, drug development, disease treatment, and early diagnostics.
